Heat Treatment

Heat treatment as is stated by its name is essentially a heating process that alters physical and sometimes chemical properties of a material. This involves the usage of heating or cooling, generally to extreme temperatures to achieve the required results of hardening or softening amongst other outcomes. There are different types of furnaces which can be used to accomplish this process, and even some that allow for very high temperature heat treatments, ranging up to 1800°C or more. Different elements are used to ensure that the furnace will reach the necessary temperatures to conduct the process.
